Everything you need to know about the new macOS Ventura

MacOS Ventura is here.
The nineteenth major release of Apple’s operating system for Macintosh computers, is said to take the Mac experience to “a whole new level”. But what are the new features, and how exactly is it different from the previous release?
MacOS Ventura features and how they might benefit your business:
Stage Manager
A new and improved way to organise your desktop. Stage manager is a feature that places the window that you’re working on in the centre of the screen with the other open windows on the left-hand side, allowing you to easily switch between them. It also allows you to group specific, relevant windows together. This could be extremely helpful for employees to work on different projects simultaneously, grouping together the windows that are synonymous. It also maintains organisation if your business works with multiple clients or companies.
Apple devices working together with Continuity
Mac users can now use the iPhone as a webcam, either securing it to your computer or handling it wirelessly. This gives users greater flexibility when on video calls, as you can utilise the wide angle and video quality of your iPhone. For example, if you wanted to have a different angle on a video call, you could show the person speaking as well as something on the desk, such as a brochure.
More secure browsing in Safari
Passkey holds password and sign-in information securely, across all Apple devices. They are not stored on a web server and have end-to-end encryption. This decreases the likelihood of hackers gaining access to your passwords, protecting your business and your data. ‘Rapid Security Response’ is a further new tool that works in-between normal updates to keep the security system the best it can be.
Accessibility tools
There have also been improvements to accessibility tools, with Live Captions available for all audio content. Type to Speak on calls has been added, and Text Checker to help proofread for voice-over users. This update can be revolutionary for those hard of hearing and could create an opportunity to hire more inclusively.
